I love traditions. When Ben and I first married, we really tried to create meaningful traditions with our children that they would enjoy, even when they were adults and had families of their own. Christmas caroling on Christmas Eve in our pajamas is one of our most cherished. For the past 24 years, we have done just that. Several of the homes we visit have been on the list for nearly as long as the tradition has existed. The whole family looks forward to it every year!
Unfortunately, this year I knew that caroling would look a lot different and potentially impossible due to Ben’s physical limitations. Last night when Ben and I spoke about how limited caroling would be this year — only one or two houses — you could see how and feel how disappointed he was. Caroling was his way of sharing joy with so many.
What he doesn’t know is that Day 12 has been in the works for some time, and it will be so amazing! But I need your help. You are invited to our home this evening (we will gather in the backyard) to surprise Ben with caroling for him this year. We are turning the tables and bringing light and joy to the big guy this year instead of the other way around. We hope you’ll join us for this very special and very tender experience.

We understand that many of you have plans this evening and we appreciate you including Ben in it for just 30 minutes. Hot chocolate will be served and lots of hugs all around for those who are able to come and make the last day of our 12 days of Christmas for Ben the most magical. And don’t forget…it’s a surprise!
Much love and merry Christmas to your family from ours. We love you and are grateful for you.
XOXO,
Bridget
