Someone once said, “Where words fail, music speaks”, and in our home that couldn’t be truer. This morning on our way to cheer practice before school, the girls and I were listening to Dear Evan Hansen’s, “You Will Be Found.” Needless to say, we hugged a little longer before they got out of the car. Even before we were married, music has been an integral part of our family and I am so very grateful that Ben has shared this gift with our children, friends, and family. It is fitting that Day 4 is all about sharing your hearts with Ben through music.
Many years ago, Ben’s sister Kim lived with us during high school and after a particularly difficult time, she wrote a poem that Ben subsequently set to music. He has played it many times over the years and before he fully lost the function of his arms and hands, his dear friend Pete gifted him with a session in a recording studio to permanently save their combined gifts. It was a beautiful experience, and I am so glad I get to share it with you.

What’s special about Day 4 is that we get to share the gift of music back with Ben. Even if you aren’t musical, share your favorite song, whistle or hum a tune, and we don’t even care if you sing off-key. Day 4 is all about healing hearts and calming the soul through music. And please don’t forget to tag him in your posts so that we can find them. We can’t wait to hear you!

Days 1, 2 and 3 have been amazing! Keep sharing the love.
XOXO,
Bridget
